This week's photo challenge over at i {heart} faces can't have a face in it! I guess it's a good thing I've got a little story to share with ya'll........
Miss Eva, being ever more independent, was being especially quiet the other day. Just as I went to go find out what she was getting herself into, I heard, "rrriiiiiiiiiiiipp!" Lovely. Let's hope it wasn't anything important like one of daddy's {EXPENSIVE} Theology textbooks.
Turns out, it was an old journal of mine. Okay. Let's see which day from the past few years I don't need to remember. As soon as I saw the date, I knew exactly which day it was.
December 19, 2007.
The day I lost my first baby. I had a miscarriage early that morning. I was 9 1/2 weeks pregnant. No. I guess I don't really need to remember that day after all. I mean, of course I still wonder if it was a boy or a girl. What would he/she look like? What would we have named him/her? Would he/she be protective of his/her little sister?
In less than 2 months, my Eva will be 2 years old. And sometime around August 19th, she'll have a little brother or sister to remind Mommy how she really shouldn't dwell on the past, & to just look forward to a future full of blessings to come!
Now head on over & join the fun!

This reminds me of my need to start documenting my life more fully. My first son was born a few weeks back and after experiencing similar things with miscarraiges etc... it is a heart touching story. Every minute with my son is worth it as I'm sure you feel the same with your daughter. Great Entry!
ReplyDeleteAdorable little feet and such a sweet story to go with the photo....well done!....
