You Capture ~ Sweet

Over the weekend, we joyfully made yet another 2-hour trip to beautiful Ruidoso, New Mexico! As soon as we arrived, we went downtown to visit our favorite caterer whom we have hired many times for our soldier retreats. Lynn, along with his wife Traci, runs Dreamcatcher Cafe in charming Downtown Ruidoso. We just stopped by to say our hellos & before we knew it, we were sitting in front of plates full of delicious {FREE} gourmet food! (My fillet mignon was like BUTTA!) Thank you Lord for your perfect timing!
With our bellies full, we stepped outside onto the courtyard just in time to witness the town's "Festival of Lights" in full-swing! There's truly nothing like a small-town parade, ya'll. Makes me a little homesick for Indiana. With Miss Eva getting a little tired from the evening's activities, Papa's shoulder was the perfect spot to rest a while.
{So Sweet!}

Now, to tell the truth, on this trip, we had one solitary goal in mind: Hunt for & cut down our own Christmas tree! Now, I don't mean we planned on visiting a local tree farm to make our selection from row after row of Christmas trees in "captivity." Our plan was something much more fun. Much more memorable. Something that we believed was a possibility, only in a far-away, magical time of Christmases long, long ago: Drive up the side of a mountain, trek through the wilderness & find the perfect Christmas tree to take home for our own!
{Even Sweeter!}

Armed with a hand-saw & a $5 permit we acquired from, (where else?) Wal Mart, we made our way up & down & all around until Issi spotted the perfect tree!
Kisses for a job-well-done! Can you tell this girl loves her Papa?
{Okay, I feel a cavity coming on!}
